East Goshen Township will conduct a Deer Hunt starting this September thru January 2009 six days a week and will continue for 10 Year's because 62 resident's signed a petition to hunt. The Majority of Resident's are concerned for the Safety of their Children & Pet's. Hunting will be enforced on Public Land's that adjoin Homeowner's Properties. Over 300 East Goshen Resident's Signed a Petition; opposing the Deer Hunt in Open Space, but the township has voted for a second time to continue the hunt and also amended the Ordinance for Hunting.
Why are they Supporting Special Interest Groups?

Resident's have a solution to the safety problem; Deer Contraception is a proven method of controlling Deer Population's, but the Township choose to completely Ignore this method and any expert testimony. Deer Contraception Works - Watch a video Presentation by Jay Kirkpatrick, PhD
October 3, 2006: Supervisor's held a meeting in which at least 75 to 80% of resident's opposed the Deer Hunt . (see video October 03, 2006 Supervisors Meeting)
The Supervisor's were not happy with the overwhelming opposition so they created a Deer Management Committee (Deer Committee formed to Control Deer Herd). The newly selected 5 out of 8 initial member's already were pro hunting (read minutes). One or more member's quit in disgust over the conduct of DMC Committee. Some pro hunt member's that were selected were associates or friend's of the Supervisor's. Residents and Specialist in the field of Deer Management offered alternative methods of controlling Deer Herds, but were consistently ignored.
Do you agree with Bow & Arrow Hunting of Deer in Resident's Back Yard's where Children Play or would you prefer controlling Deer with Contraceptives?
